Amsterdam-Dam (2)

Yesterday, you had the first article of a small series about my first trip to Amsterdam. 48hours, it’s really short to explore this almost capital. In fact, I just visited the western part of the city and today I will tell you about the Dam and its surroundings. The Dam is this great place where you find the Royal Palace, the new church called the Nieuwe Kerk, Madame Tussaud and a strange white column.

With our hotel located near the bus station, we crosed more than once though this place where musicians play guitar to late in the night, where some celebrate their bachelor party in a tutu and where others strut happily dressed with their fancy dresses.

Behind the Dam place, after a ride in the big H&M store, there is Magna Plaza. This is the old Post Office which is now a shopping center. Personally, the selection of stores is not overwhelming but it’s worth a look just for the architecture.

Going up Damrak, we can not miss the Beurs. This large building with four facades as large as different is in fact the Trade office. If we continue further north, a first look at water as an integral part of the city. The night is beautiful and very colorful.

Finally, a view of the central station and the area.
