Restaurant Aux 2 oliviers, 5 years later

Last week, I was looking for a new restaurant to test in Paris between Les Halles and St Michel. In my research, I came across this restaurant that I tested in 2009. After nearly 5 years, it no longer counts is not it?

Taste of the meal What made me come back to this place several years later, it’s the memory of this delicious crème brûlée with foie gras. So I did not help myself but order the same thing: the crème brûlée of foie gras, apple chutney and toasted spice bread. Unfortunately, I’ll admit I was slightly disappointed. The cream was good but really nothing more. So is what I sublimate my memory and it distorted my experience, or is it that my palate has matured over the years and I have become more demanding?

Anyway I was also disappointed for the main course: duck breast with honey, mashed potatoes and pear wine. The duck was good but honey sauce seemed to me a little bitter, a little as if it had been burned. And mashed potatoes was so-so. At the table, there was a wok caramelized pork with honey, and a cod and mashed sweet potato sauce.

For cons, the dessert was really good. I ordered a strawberry tiramisu revisited and it was perfect: not too sweet, the cream was very good and the balance between the biscuit and cream was perfect.

Setting Wooden tables and chairs with cushions and covers, towels fabrics: the decor is fairly standard but enjoyable.

Service  Nothing special to notice.

Price It costs between 8 and 10€ for a starter, between 16 and 25€ for a main course and between 8 and 12€ for a dessert. Having booked via LaFourchette, we had -50% dsicount. My bill amounted to 25€ for a starter, main course, dessert and a drink which is quite interesting. Without offer, I’d find the restaurant a bit expensive.
