I started the summer season a bit earlier this years as I quited job and I decided to take a week off to go away with my boyfriend in June. We wanted to stay in Europe or at least to not go too far away because we had only one week and didn’t want to spend too much time in plane. So we quickly decided to go in Greece which is one of my favorite destinations because it’s often cheap and the sun is almost garantee. There are so any islands that I could go there every year without visiting all of them! By the way I already visited Athens, Mykonos, Rhodes, Corfou and Crete.

As we planned to go there early in summer, we thought that we could go to Santorini which is one of the most expensive destination in Greece. Finally, even in June it was not cheap at all but we started to search in April and maybe the big deals were already off. For accomodation, we booked an hotel at Fira, the capital city of the island.

Here some pictures of the city.

In the west side of the city, Fira’s cliff is like a card postal view with all these white houses. It’s less impressive than Oia but it’s a thing.

When the sun sets slowly and rays of lights are softer on the skin, the show is so beautiful.

By night, city’s lights give a magical view.

25th Marthiou street, is almost car-free and we can find a lot of fast foods.

If we get deeper int eh city, we can find a free-car zone with restaurants wiew view on the sea, and a lot of souvenir shops. On the way to the old port, the steps are numbered.

No beautiful beach at Fira but we come here to visit, enjoy the view or take a bus. The buses’ network is well developped here but all of them start their journey from Fira. There is several lines to go anywhere in the island. Schedules are displayed in the bus station and the frequency depends on the destination. The bus ticket is from 1,80 € and 2,40 € by journey and according where you go. You can by it directly in the bus.
