Londres #12 Along the Thames

It’s with sunny pictures I ended this series of photos about London and devoted more specifically to two short trips I made to the British capital in January 2012 and June 2013. This time, I take you with me to the Thames, the famous river that runs through London for a walk towards the South Shore.

For this trip made in the late afternoon, we started from Albert Embankment and we walked along the shore to reach London Bridge and have stunning views of Tower Bridge. Here are some pictures!

To be honest, we started from Albert Embankment because our hotel was in the street and we went back there to take a nap but rather often walks start from Westminster underground or Embankment. But as you can see from Albert Embankment you have already a beautiful view of the Westmister Abbey and Big Ben.

After passing Big Ben and if we stay on the south bank of the Thames, we can approach the famous London Eye. We didn’t take a ride because the queue was frankly impressive and it is still quite expensive. Around and beyond, there are all kinds of entertainment. Rides, something to drink, what to marvel … And if you want to take pictures of Big Ben and London Eye, I suggest you go on Hungerford Bridge, which offers a superb view as in these photos taken here a few years ago.

Continuing your amble, you will come across a beach (yes I assure you), the Modern Art Museum, the pedestrian Millennium Bridge  that connects the Tate Museum and St. Paul’s Cathedral and many other surprises before reaching London Bridge!
